This blog is very new, and I am very new to the cyberspace world. It will not be a cosmopolitan of fancy blogging extravaganza (hey, I can barely load a picture) and do not presume to think that it will be worth reading. What this blog will be is honest. I am a stay at home mother of four, who is trying her best to live out my life and lead the innocent souls of my children to the Lord, in following the precepts lovingly given to us by the Holy Catholic Church. In Her, I find my direction and the sacraments so necessary for salvation. I try very hard to be a good wife and encourage my husband in his many endeavors. Though I do not always agree with all that he says, I always respect his judgment and in the end follow his leadership. Life for young Catholic families today (as it has always been) is very hard. There are many graces that our family has received for trying to follow the will of God, but we are not perfect and I do not try to hide my imperfections. I feel that it is only through communication and the expression of these imperfections that other mothers will find that they are not alone in their struggles. These struggles are universal and timeless. I find great comfort (and horror) in reading St. Cyril of Jerusalem realizing that theirs was a culture of vice, death and debauchery just like ours. We have the tools to fight the world, and the Devil wishes to keep us from these instruments by means of our pride, fear and exhaustion. God will help us, but we must be strong in our weakness and firm in our humility. If by the exposition of my “sorrows” as well as my joys (not to mention sarcasm) I can assist another in the hope of never-ending grace which God yearns to bestow on us then this vehicle has served its purpose.

Dear Kitty ~ Thanks to Levin’s invitation, I have learned more about you and your family in the past week than I had ever hoped to! Reading your entries has been a joy, and has inspired more than usual reflections upon what it may be like as our little family grows and God-willing, multiplies. Your mission to ‘assist in hope’ is noble, especially considering your time limitations – may God bless you and keep you crazy all the days of your life! ~ Your new friend in Catholic Motherhood
